Project background
Il2rg is known as the interleukin receptor common gamma chain, which is an important signaling component of many interleukin receptors, including those of interleukin-2, interleukin-4, interleukin-7 and interleukin-21. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency. This rat can be used to support research in many areas including immunology, inflammation research, cancer research, xenograft/transplant host etc.
Homozygous Il2rgtm1/Bcgen rats demonstrate significantly reduced mature T, B and NK cells in spleen.
Markedly diminished T cells, B cells and NK cells are proved in homozygous Il2rgtm1/Bcgenrats (Figure 1), the same as reported, and similar to the phenotype in homozygous Il2rg knockout mice.
