Large Animal Translational Research

In comparison to implanted mouse tumor models, spontaneous tumors in larger animals, especially canines, exhibit biological characteristics that are more similar to those observed in humans. Recognizing this, Biocytogen has established the Translational Medicine Research Laboratory and Maple Leaf Pet Hospital, with the goal of exploring the translational potential of anti-tumor drugs between canines and humans through preliminary basic laboratory research and clinical trials on canine tumors. By reducing the risk of failure in human clinical trials, this approach aims to improve the quality of life for sick animals while accelerating the development of anti-tumor drugs for human use.
